Donation Policy

Myanmar Relief accepts donations to support its charitable mission of helping vulnerable communities in Myanmar, including children, families, refugees, displaced people, elderly persons, disabled persons, and communities affected by poverty, conflict, health challenges, natural disasters, or emergency situations.

Donations may be used for education support, health assistance, emergency relief, disability support, refugee and displaced family aid, funeral assistance, natural disaster response, program support, and reasonable administrative costs necessary to operate the organization.

Myanmar Relief is committed to using donations responsibly, honestly, and in accordance with its nonprofit mission.

501(c)(3) Status and Tax-Deductible Donations

Myanmar Relief is recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt public charity.

Donations to Myanmar Relief are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. Donors should consult a tax advisor for personal tax questions.

Refund Policy

Donations are generally non-refundable. If a donation was made by mistake, please contact Myanmar Relief as soon as possible so the issue can be reviewed.

Restricted Donations

If a donor gives money for a specific project or purpose, Myanmar Relief will make reasonable efforts to use the donation for that purpose. If the project is fully funded, completed, changed, or no longer possible, Myanmar Relief may use the donation for a similar charitable purpose consistent with its mission.

Donor Privacy

Myanmar Relief respects donor privacy. We do not sell, rent, or trade donor names, email addresses, phone numbers, or personal information.

Donation Receipts

Myanmar Relief will provide donation receipts when donor information is available. Receipts may include the donor’s name, donation date, donation amount, donation method, Myanmar Relief’s contact information, EIN, and IRS 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status.

For donations of $250 or more, Myanmar Relief will provide a written acknowledgment that includes whether any goods or services were provided in exchange for the contribution.

For most regular donations, the receipt will state:

“No goods or services were provided in exchange for this contribution.”
