Thomas H. Winn
Founder & President, Myanmar Relief
Thomas H. Winn is the Founder and President of Myanmar Relief, a U.S.-registered 501(c)(3) public charity dedicated to improving the lives of vulnerable people in Myanmar and Myanmar refugee communities through sustainable humanitarian assistance, clean water initiatives, education, healthcare support, disability assistance, and community development.
Thomas holds a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Case Western Reserve University (CWRU) and a Master of Science in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Maryland, College Park (UMCP). His graduate education provides a strong technical foundation in engineering analysis, fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, systems design, renewable energy, and project management, supporting the development of practical and sustainable infrastructure solutions.
As Founder and President, Thomas provides strategic leadership for Myanmar Relief by overseeing organizational governance, fundraising, grant development, financial stewardship, partnership building, program planning, and long-term organizational growth. He works closely with donors, foundations, corporations, faith-based organizations, government agencies, and community partners to ensure that humanitarian assistance is delivered effectively, responsibly, and transparently.
Drawing on his engineering background, Thomas is leading Myanmar Relief’s efforts to develop sustainable clean water solutions for underserved communities. These initiatives include water treatment and filtration systems, solar-powered water pumping, water storage and distribution networks, sanitation improvements, and engineering-based projects that improve public health and community resilience.
In addition to his engineering education, Thomas has completed professional training in humanitarian response, nonprofit management, leadership, and continuous process improvement. His professional development includes UNICEF’s Introduction to Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), further strengthening his knowledge of internationally recognized approaches to safe water, sanitation, and hygiene programming.
